Honey

Natural product made by bees using nectar from flowers (sweet liquid) and fortifying it with substances (eg enzymes) from within the bee itself. The bees then deposit the fortified, concentrated nectar in honeycombs to ripen.

Specific to each honey. Depending on the type of plants, soil, climate and season.

Composition:

The composition of honey varies by type of honey. In general, honey contains: natural sugar, mineral salts, enzymes, (amino) acids/ protein, and vitamin B and C Over time honey wil crystallize. It will thicken and become less transparent .This property is the guarantee of quality of a natural product. Place the honeyjar in a warm water bath and the honey will return to its liquid state.

How to use:

  • To soothe sore and irritated throats
  • To cure mouth infections, sores, wounds, burns, inflamed gums, toothache, etc.
  • To suppress cough
  • Honey is delicious as a sweetener on toast, with yogurt, in hot tea or with fresh fruit. Also delicious savory with cheese, nuts and as a honey glaze for ham.
